The Brunch Menu
Poppies serves a full breakfast and brunch menu from opening until mid-afternoon. The eggs benedict is the one people come back for — house-made hollandaise, proper poached eggs, and enough variation on the base to keep it interesting. The smashed avo is done without the ceremony. The granola is made in-house. The French toast is the kind that makes you order a second coffee just to have a reason to stay.

The Coffee
We serve Allpress Espresso — one of Australia's most respected specialty roasters. The house blend is smooth and consistent, the single origins rotate seasonally. If you want a proper flat white in Southbank Brisbane before 8am, Poppies is one of the few places that can actually deliver it.
Cold brew, matcha, and a full range of non-dairy alternatives are available year-round. The almond flat white has a following.
Alfresco Breakfast in South Bank
The terrace on Little Stanley Street is the best seat for breakfast in South Bank. Morning light comes in from the east, the street is quiet before 9am, and there's enough space between tables that it doesn't feel like you're eating in a crowd. In Brisbane's climate, outdoor breakfast is genuinely viable for most of the year.
On weekends, the terrace fills up by 9am. If you want the pick of the tables, arrive between 7am and 8:30am. Bookings are available for groups of six or more.
Dietary & Dietary-Friendly Options
The brunch menu has strong vegetarian and gluten-aware options throughout. Most dishes can be adapted for dietary requirements — just let us know when you book or when you arrive. We're not a dedicated allergen-free kitchen, but we take dietary needs seriously and will always tell you what we can and can't accommodate.
Weekend Brunch in South Bank
Saturday and Sunday brunch at Poppies is a different pace to the weekday morning rush. Breakfast is served until 3pm daily, the terrace fills up gradually, and there is room to make a slower morning of it over coffee and the current breakfast menu.
Weekend brunch is popular for groups — birthday brunches, hen's parties, post-run catch-ups, and family visits. Bookings for six or more are recommended, especially on Sunday mornings.
